A long-running medina restaurant near the Place du Caire, El Moez serves a short menu of grilled fish, fresh salads, and Tunisian classics like brik à l'oeuf and ojja. Inside, the dining room is whitewashed and quiet; in summer the tables move outside.
Prices are reasonable by Tunisian standards, and they will happily walk you back to the kitchen to choose your fish before it goes on the grill. Beer and local wine are available.
