Moknine is easily reached from Monastir (20 km) or Mahdia (25 km) by shared taxi (louage) or local bus. From Sousse (35 km), take a louage from the louage station or a regional bus. There is no direct train connection to Moknine itself, but the Sahel Metro (light rail) connects Sousse and Mahdia with stations along the coast; from the nearest coastal stop you can take a taxi inland to Moknine.
Most visitors come as a half-day trip from Monastir or Mahdia. The drive through the olive groves of the Sahel is pleasant in itself.
