Rajshahi is well connected to Dhaka by air and rail. Shah Makhdum Airport receives several flights daily from Dhaka on Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Novoair; the flight takes about 45 minutes. By train, the Silk City Express and Padma Express run between Dhaka Kamalapur station and Rajshahi, covering the 250 km in about 5–6 hours. Book rail tickets in advance through the Bangladesh Railway online system.
By bus, regular service connects Rajshahi to Dhaka, Khulna, and other major towns. Buses use the Hanif Enterprise and Shyamoli Paribahan networks among others; the journey from Dhaka takes about 5–6 hours on the express services. The bus terminal is in the city centre, close to most guesthouses.
