Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Park is dedicated to the Ming general Yuan Chonghuan, best known for defeating Nurhaci's Jurchen forces at the Battle of Ningyuan in 1626. The park combines a memorial hall, a statue, and a reconstruction of Yuan's house, making it more substantial than a simple monument.
It is most rewarding if you have some interest in late Ming history, when the empire was under pressure from the forces that would eventually found the Qing dynasty.
