Tongling Grand Canyon is a deep karst gorge west of Detian Waterfall, with sheer limestone walls, forest, caves, underground streams, and waterfalls cutting through the rock. It is a wilder stop than the main falls and gives a good sense of the broken limestone landscape that defines this corner of Guangxi.
The canyon works best as part of a wider trip through the Detian and Jingxi area. Paths and stairs lead through the gorge, so expect a proper walk rather than a quick roadside viewpoint.
