Weizhou Island is reached by ferry from Beihai's North Sea Ferry Terminal (北海轮渡码头). The crossing takes about one hour on the fast ferry. Services run several times daily, with more frequent departures in summer and during Chinese national holidays. The ferry ticket costs around 100 yuan each way.
Booking ahead is strongly advisable during Chinese national holidays (particularly Golden Week in October and the Spring Festival), when the island fills to capacity and ferry tickets sell out days in advance. You can book through the official Weizhou Ferry app or at the terminal in person. The terminal is accessible from Beihai city centre by taxi in about 20 minutes. From Nanning, take the high-speed train or bus to Beihai (about two hours), then a taxi to the ferry terminal.
