Xieyang Island is a small, quiet island southeast of Weizhou, reached by boat when conditions and operators allow. It is much smaller and less developed than Weizhou, with a simple path across the island, a resident village population, and a reputation for birdlife and calm.
The boat trip is the practical hurdle, and costs are best shared with other passengers. For travellers already on Weizhou, Xieyang is a low-key nature excursion rather than a resort stop.
