Xingyi has a regional airport (Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport) with connections to Guiyang, Kunming, Guangzhou, and other cities. High-speed rail arrived with a new station that opened in 2025 on the Nanning-Guiyang line, making the city considerably more accessible than it was previously — the journey to Guiyang now takes around two hours.
The bus journey from Guiyang took around five to six hours before the rail line opened; with the new high-speed connection, flying or taking the train are now the better options for most visitors. Within the Xingyi area, the two main attractions (Wanfenglin and Maling River Canyon) are reachable by taxi or local bus; the canyon is about 20 kilometres east of the city, and Wanfenglin is about 10 kilometres south.
