Yuya Road, running parallel to the beach one block back, is the seafood strip — twenty-odd restaurants in a row, each one shouting at you to come in. Pick a place that looks busy with Chinese diners and check the tanks before you sit down. The going rate at the time of writing was about 80 yuan per jin for prawns and around 200 for spiny lobster; everything is sold by weight.
Order three or four shellfish dishes plus a steamed fish and a green vegetable, and you'll feed two people well for under 300 yuan including a couple of beers. The restaurants stay busy until midnight; the streetlife around them — including a small night market — is part of the experience.
