Baishi Ridge Scenic Area is the main upland escape from Qionghai, a place of boulders, forested slopes, and broad views over the eastern Hainan countryside. The ridge is developed enough for a straightforward outing, but the landscape still feels like a real break from the riverfront and Jiaji town streets.
Go for the climb and the air. On clear days the reward is a wide sweep of fields, villages, and low hills, and it makes a good half-day contrast to Qionghai's Red Detachment history sites and Wanquan River scenery.
