Wuzhishan is connected to the coast by the Hainan Western Loop high-speed railway, though the main approach from Sanya takes about 40 minutes and from Haikou around 90 minutes. The city's railway station connects to the centre by taxi or local bus.
For Wuzhi Mountain itself, the trailhead at Nansheng is accessible by taxi from the city in about 30 minutes. Most visitors hire a driver for the day who can wait at the trailhead while you hike. There is no reliable public transport to the trailhead. The Chubao village and Yahu terraced fields are best reached by arranged transport from town, as they are outside walking distance.
