Taiping Falls is a small forest excursion near Wuzhishan, valued more for cool air and greenery than for blockbuster scale. The falls sit in Hainan's mountainous interior, where the island feels far removed from the beach resorts on the coast.
Go with realistic expectations and decent footwear, especially after rain. It is a useful half-day nature stop if you are already in Wuzhishan for the nationalities museum, mountain scenery, or rainforest hikes.
