The Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park rises behind the eastern end of the bay, a 1,500-hectare reserve of subtropical rainforest threaded with glass-bottomed walkways, suspension bridges, and viewing platforms. The headline feature is the Bird's Nest viewing pavilion at the top — the rope bridge and treehouses were used in the 2002 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and the park has leaned hard on the connection ever since.
Buses included in the entry ticket shuttle visitors up the steep ridge to a sequence of viewpoints; you can walk back down through the forest in a couple of hours. The valley views at the top, taking in the bay and the headland, are the real reason to come. Allow most of a day; bring water and mosquito repellent.
