Getting There

Qiqihar is accessible by train from Harbin and other northeast Chinese cities, making it a straightforward stop on a Heilongjiang itinerary.

By train: Frequent conventional rail services connect Qiqihar to Harbin, with journey times of two to three hours. The train is the standard approach. There are also direct services to major cities including Beijing (overnight sleepers) and Shenyang. The main station is centrally located and the Qiqihar South station handles some high-speed services.

By air: Qiqihar Sanjiazi Airport has services to Beijing, Shanghai, and a handful of other Chinese cities. It is less convenient than the train for most itineraries originating in Heilongjiang.

By bus: Long-distance coaches connect Qiqihar to Harbin and regional destinations including Daqing. Buses to Zhalong reserve also depart from the main bus station, though it is worth confirming schedules before arrival.
