Yuntaishan is in Xiuwu County, about 40 kilometres north of Jiaozuo city. From Jiaozuo, buses run to the park entrance on weekends and in peak season; a taxi or hired car takes about forty-five minutes. Jiaozuo is connected to Zhengzhou by high-speed train (about an hour), making a day trip from the provincial capital feasible — though arriving early means leaving Zhengzhou before 8am. Most visitors treat it as a day trip, but Jiaozuo has good accommodation and staying overnight lets you enter the park at opening time before the crowds. The park charges ¥80 entry and runs shuttle buses between the main scenic zones within the site; the shuttle system is essential since the key areas are spread over several kilometres.
