Zhengzhou is one of the best-connected rail junctions in China. Zhengzhou East Station is a major high-speed rail hub on both the Beijing-Guangzhou line (reaching Beijing in about 2.5 hours, Wuhan in 1 hour, Guangzhou in 4 hours) and the Lianyungang-Lanzhou line (reaching Xi'an in under 2 hours). There are also direct high-speed services to Shanghai, Chengdu, and Qingdao.
Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport serves international and domestic routes. It is about 40 kilometres from the city centre, reachable by Airport Express rail in about 20 minutes or by taxi in 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. The city also has an older main railway station (Zhengzhou Station) serving slower intercity trains.
