Dehang is a small place and should be approached as one. The gorge walk is the reason to come; the village crafts and the Miao cultural atmosphere are secondary rewards. Allow a full day for the gorge circuit, and stay overnight if you want the village in the early morning before the tour groups arrive from Jishou.
