Zhuzhou's attractions are concentrated along the Xiang River and in the Shennongcheng Scenic Area to the south. The city is best understood as an industrial city with decent recreational infrastructure rather than a cultural destination — but the mythological commemorative complex and the riverfront park are both well-executed and worth an afternoon.
