Getting There

Huai'an is well connected to the national high-speed rail network. Huai'an East Station links the city to Nanjing in under an hour and to Shanghai in about two hours. A second high-speed station — Huai'an West — serves routes toward Xuzhou and beyond.

Huai'an Lianshui International Airport (HIA) lies 22 km northeast of the city centre and handles domestic routes to most major Chinese cities, plus a limited number of international services to South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Taxis and airport buses connect to the centre.

Within the city, taxis are readily available and inexpensive. A limited metro system began operations, with lines covering the main visitor areas.
