Quanfu Tower

Quanfu Tower (全福讲寺) is a Buddhist temple complex on the northern edge of the old town, set slightly apart from the main commercial lanes. The main hall dates to the Ming dynasty and the tower itself — a multi-storey pagoda-style structure — provides the only real elevated view over the canal town's rooflines. The surrounding grounds include a small lotus pond and the rebuilt temple buildings.

The complex is less crowded than the mansions and gives a sense of the religious life that once ran alongside the merchant commerce of the town. Early morning visits, when monks are conducting ceremonies, are particularly worthwhile.
