Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial

The Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial recalls the American Volunteer Group pilots who fought Japanese forces in China during the Second World War. Kunming was one of their main bases, linked to the dangerous air route over the Himalaya known as the Hump.

The memorial is a short historical stop rather than a large museum, but it adds useful wartime context to central Kunming and pairs well with the city's other Republican-era and Second World War sites.
