Port Blair is reached by air from mainland India, with Veer Savarkar International Airport close to the centre of town. Passenger ships also run from Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam, but the voyage is slow and schedules are less convenient than flights.
Most onward travel in the islands starts from Port Blair's ferry terminals. Book popular routes early in the high season, especially boats to Havelock and Neil Island.
