The Godavari Bridge is the structure most travellers associate with Rajahmundry: a long rail-cum-road crossing that stretches across one of the widest urban reaches of the river. It is best seen from the riverfront or from a slow crossing, when the scale of the Godavari plain becomes clear.
The older Havelock Bridge and the newer arch bridge nearby add to the sense that Rajahmundry is a city built around crossings. Come late in the day for softer light on the water and the bridge piers.
