Gandhi Hill rises above Vijayawada with a memorial stupa, library, planetarium, and views across the city. The hill is best known for its Gandhi memorial, unveiled in 1968, and it remains one of the city's standard family outings.
The site is a little old-fashioned, but that is part of its appeal. Come late in the day for cooler air and better light over the city.
