Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is one of the nine historic Gurdwaras in Delhi, marking the spot where the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, was beheaded in 1675 on the orders of Emperor Aurangzeb. The martyrdom gave the site immense religious significance, and the current building — a striking white and golden structure with a prominent dome — draws thousands of Sikh pilgrims daily. It stands in the heart of Chandni Chowk, making it easy to combine with a walk through Old Delhi's bazaars.
The interior is serene and welcoming to visitors of all faiths. Volunteers distribute free langar (community food) around the clock, a practice central to Sikh tradition. Cover your head and remove footwear before entering — scarves are available at the entrance.
