Lodi Gardens Monuments

Collection of 15th and 16th-century Lodi and Sayyid tombs scattered through a landscaped park

Lodi Gardens contains a remarkable collection of 15th and 16th-century Lodi and Sayyid dynasty tombs set within a landscaped city park. The two most impressive are the Bara Gumbad (Large Dome) — a gateway tomb with an attached three-domed mosque — and the Shish Gumbad (Glass Dome), whose glazed blue tile cladding gives it its name. Scattered through the park are smaller tombs, walls, and a bridge, all from the same era.

The gardens are open from sunrise to sunset and are free to enter. They are most popular for early morning walks and jogging rather than historical tourism, giving them a pleasant local atmosphere. The combination of ancient architecture, mature trees, and well-kept lawns makes Lodi Gardens one of the most civilised parks in any world capital.
