Ambaji is reached mainly by road. State buses connect it with Palanpur, Himatnagar, Abu Road, and other towns in northern Gujarat and southern Rajasthan. Palanpur and Abu Road are the most useful railway heads; from either, continue by bus, shared jeep, taxi, or private car.
Within town, auto-rickshaws handle short hops to the bus stand and nearby temples. For Kumbharia, Koteshwar, and the outlying shrines, hiring an auto-rickshaw for a circuit is usually easier than trying to piece together local transport.
