Swaminarayan Temple

The Swaminarayan Temple is one of the most visited religious sites in Gandhidham, built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha for the Gujarati community that settled here after Partition. The temple follows the ornate carved stone style typical of BAPS buildings, with elaborate facades, white marble interiors, and a serene inner courtyard that offers respite from the noise of the surrounding streets.

Devotional activity peaks in the early morning and at dusk, when the aarti ceremony fills the halls with incense and chanting. Visitors are welcome, but modest dress is required — cover your shoulders and knees, and remove shoes before entering. The temple complex is also a useful landmark in central Gandhidham, close to the main market area.
