Basai Wetland is one of the reasons birders keep a Gurgaon list. The water body and surrounding marshy ground attract resident and migratory birds, especially in the cooler months, though the setting is increasingly pressured by construction and urban expansion.
This is not a tidy park with interpretive signs. Bring binoculars, go early, and treat it as a working, threatened wetland on the edge of a fast-growing city. The reward is seeing a very different Gurgaon from the one along Golf Course Road.
