Naulakha Temple is Deoghar's quieter architectural stop, about 1.5 km from Baba Baidyanath Dham. Built in 1940 by Rani Charushila, it takes its name from the nine lakh rupees said to have been spent on construction.
The temple is dedicated to Radha and Krishna and rises to about 146 feet in granite and marble. Its pale, vertical form and calm grounds are a welcome change of pace after the denser lanes around the main Shiva shrine.
