Phuldungri Hillock is the easy town viewpoint, close enough to Ghatshila to visit without making a full excursion of it. The climb is modest, but the reward is the broad view over the Subarnarekha valley, low forest, and the town's mix of industrial edges and rural pockets.
Go in the early morning or late afternoon. Midday light flattens the landscape, and the hill is better when the red earth and sal trees pick up some colour.
