Gulbarga (now officially Kalaburagi) has strong bus connections across Karnataka and into neighboring states. The central bus stand is the main hub for both state-run KSRTC and private services.
KSRTC operates frequent buses to Bangalore (around 10 hours, 610 km), Hyderabad (4 hours, 220 km), Bidar, Bijapur, and other towns in northern Karnataka. Overnight sleeper and semi-sleeper Volvo services run daily to Bangalore, making the long journey more comfortable.
Private operators also run AC sleeper coaches to Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai from stops near the bus stand. Booking ahead during holidays is a good idea, as these routes fill up fast.
For shorter hops to nearby towns like Bidar or Sholapur, frequent non-AC buses run throughout the day and are cheap and reliable.
