Jama Masjid stands inside Gulbarga Fort and dates to 1367, when the Bahmani sultans made Gulbarga their capital. Its low domes and arcaded interior make it one of the fort's most important sights, and it adds a quieter architectural counterpoint to the heavy defensive walls around it.
