Urwa Marigudi is a neighbourhood temple rather than one of Mangalore's grandest monuments, but it gives a useful glimpse of the city's living religious rhythm. The temple is especially associated with local festivals and processions, when the streets around Urwa become much more animated.
Visit respectfully and do not expect museum-style interpretation. It is best combined with other Mangalore temples and churches to understand how layered the city's coastal culture is.
