The summit is the reason most people come: old fort remains, wooded paths, sharp drops, and long views over the plains northeast of Bangalore. Before sunrise the place can feel almost theatrical, with fog and cloud moving across the edge of the hill.
The road is popular with cars and motorbikes, while the stair route gives a more satisfying arrival if you have time and energy. Watch the edges, keep food away from monkeys, and do not expect solitude on weekends.
