Thrissur is on the main railway line connecting Kochi (50 km south, 45 minutes) and Kozhikode (100 km north, 1.5 hours). The town has good rail connections to Coimbatore, Chennai, and overnight trains to Mumbai and Delhi. Thrissur Junction is central and walkable from most accommodation.
The nearest airports are Cochin International Airport (Kochi, about 55 km south) and Calicut International Airport (Kozhikode, about 95 km north). Both are connected to Thrissur by frequent KSRTC buses and shared taxis.
By road, Thrissur is on National Highway 544 and has good connections to all parts of Kerala. KSRTC operates extensive bus services. A car and driver from Kochi is the practical option for covering Thrissur and the surrounding waterfalls in a single day trip, though staying overnight gives more flexibility.
