Our Lady of Lourdes Metropolitan Cathedral is one of Thrissur's major Christian landmarks, known above all for its underground shrine. The church is large by Kerala standards, but the reason to come is the unusual below-ground chapel, a carefully designed devotional space beneath the main building.
