Deogad Fort

Maratha-era fort on a wave-battered peninsula

The old fort occupies the tip of the peninsula that shelters Deogad's harbour. Built during the Maratha period, its walls are partly ruined but the setting is dramatic — waves on three sides, views across the bay to the open sea. A small mosque within the fort complex, the Jama Masjid, dates from the same era and is still in use.
