A working lighthouse on the headland above Devgad fort, painted red and white and visible from far out at sea. The original tower was built by the British in 1915; the current structure is a 1957 replacement.
Visitors are allowed up the tower in the late afternoon — opening times can be erratic, but a small fee paid to the keeper usually gets you in. The view from the top covers the harbour, the fort below, the curve of the beaches south, and on a clear day the long line of the Konkan coast running away into the haze. Bring water; the climb is steep.
