The coastline around Malvan has some of the cleanest and least crowded beaches on the Konkan coast. Tarkarli, about 7 km south of town, is the best known, with white sand and clear water good for snorkeling. Chiwla Beach, closer to town, is quieter still. Devbag, at the confluence of the Karli River and the sea, offers a mix of backwaters and open coast.
