Chivla Beach lies just south of the town centre, a long curve of grey-white sand backed by coconut palms and modest beach shacks. It is calmer and shallower than the more famous Tarkarli stretch a few kilometres further south, which makes it the locals' choice for an afternoon swim or for taking children.
The beach is clean by Indian standards, with very little development on the shore itself. Several small operators offer banana-boat rides and parasailing in season; the cheap stalls behind the beach serve hot bhajiya and tea. Sunsets are reliably good.
