About 7 km south of Malvan, Tarkarli is a long stretch of white sand backed by coconut palms. The water is unusually clear for the Konkan coast, making it one of the better spots for snorkeling and scuba diving in Maharashtra.
Further south, the Tarkarli creek opens into a lovely estuary. A boat ride on the creek takes you out toward the open sea — on a lucky day you might spot dolphins. MTDC runs cottages right on the beach if you want to stay overnight.
