The Rameshwar Temple is the principal Shiva temple of Malvan town — a modest red-tiled structure in the local Konkani style, set in a small enclosed courtyard a short walk back from the beach. It is the focal point of the town's annual festivals and a steady source of bell-ringing and incense at most other times of the year.
The temple is open to all visitors; remove shoes at the entrance and dress modestly. The streets immediately around it are some of the oldest in the town, with traditional Konkani houses built around courtyards open to the sea breeze.
