One of Mumbai's oldest and most famous bars, open since 1871 and a long-time gathering point for travellers and Mumbaikars alike on Colaba Causeway. The menu spans Indian and Western food; the beer is cold and the atmosphere reliably lively. Featured prominently in Gregory David Roberts' novel Shantaram. The cafe was targeted in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and has since been rebuilt.
