The Dharavi Art Room is a community art and education initiative operating within Dharavi that offers art classes, workshops, and exhibitions for children and youth from the settlement. The organisation has exhibited work by Dharavi's young artists at venues across Mumbai and internationally, reframing the neighbourhood's inhabitants as cultural producers rather than subjects of urban poverty narratives.
The space hosts regular events including art workshops open to outside visitors, film screenings, and cultural exchanges. It is one of several grassroots cultural organisations that have emerged within Dharavi in recent years, reflecting the community's creative energy. Visitors interested in engaging with Dharavi beyond a standard tour can contact them in advance to arrange visits.
