Colaba Causeway

Colaba Causeway (Shahid Bhagat Singh Road) is Mumbai's most famous street market, a kilometre-long strip of stalls and shops running south from the Regal Cinema to the Afghan Memorial Church. Vendors sell everything from pirated books, silver jewellery, and antiques to branded clothing, leather goods, and Bollywood memorabilia. The mix of tourist commerce and genuine local shopping creates a lively, unpredictable bazaar atmosphere.

The street is busiest in the late afternoon and evening when locals and tourists mix freely. Bargaining is expected and the opening price should be treated with skepticism. The cobbled lanes off the causeway — particularly Mandlik Marg — have more interesting antique shops and art galleries. Leopold Café and the Taj are both a short walk from the main causeway area.
