Lengpui Airport is about 30 km from Aizawl and has flights to Kolkata, Guwahati, and other northeast Indian hubs. Shared taxis and reserved cars meet most arrivals; the road into town is winding and can feel longer than the distance suggests.
Overland travel is slow but scenic. Buses and sumos connect Aizawl with Silchar, Guwahati, and towns elsewhere in Mizoram. Check current permit rules before travelling, as access requirements for northeast Indian states can change.
