The Khambeswari temple is the principal religious site in Aska, dedicated to the goddess Khambeswari, a form of Durga particularly venerated in Ganjam District. The temple draws devotees from across the surrounding area, and festival days bring large crowds to the town.
The most animated period to visit is the Dandanacha festival held in March and April, dedicated to Maa Kali. The festival culminates on the final day — the Meru — in a procession that draws participants from the surrounding villages. Outside festival periods, the temple is a quiet local shrine rather than a major pilgrimage site.
