Ananta Vasudeva Temple

Ananta Vasudeva Temple is one of the important historic temples around Bhubaneswar's sacred tank and old-town lanes. Unlike many of the Shaiva temples nearby, it is dedicated to Vishnu, which gives it a distinct place in the city's dense religious geography.

The carvings and temple form reward the same close attention as the better-known Lingaraj precinct, though the mood is more intimate. It is a working sacred site, so dress and move accordingly, and treat photography rules as something to ask about rather than assume.
