This small Brahma Temple stands on an island in Bindu Sagar, the sacred tank at the heart of old Bhubaneswar's temple district. The lake and the shrine are part of the same ritual landscape as Lingaraja Temple and the many smaller shrines around the water.
There is usually no regular ferry service, so most visitors see the temple from the edge of the tank. It becomes more central during the Chandan Yatra festival, when the image of Lord Lingaraja is taken to the island by boat.
